First off... OK WOW isn't Amanda from XOXO, Amanda Michelle absolutely gorgeous??? I was so excited when we decided to do this collaboration together. We have so much in common it's ridiculous. Her style is stunning and I'm so glad we got to know each other through this opportunity. I am positive we will be working together in the near future.
Spurts of patterns always add a little something extra to your outfit. Amanda does a great job at this with her plaid pencil skirt. So cute, right? I decided to add my all time favorite cheetah-print rain booties to my outfit to tie everything together. My glasses...yes they are fake... but don't they make me look more sophisticated? Since I don't actually need them, I call them my "attitude glasses"... hahaha. Don't be afraid to experiment with fun patterns and accessories!
Everyone should definitely go checkout Amanda's amazing blog- http://xoxoamandamichelle.blogspot.com/

Nothing is better than having friends that want to be on your blog! This is Cassie, she is my best friend and takes most of my pictures. I decided, enough of me. Why not share my fashionable friend! We actually had a really great time yesterday. We went to a little cafe, and had some well needed girl time. Y'all know me, and know that I am 100 percent guilty of over wearing my floppy hats... But doesn't it look so cute on Cass?! Her hairstyle is perfect for girls with short hair wanting a messy, beachy, curl (curl the top half in one direction, then the bottom half in the opposite direction). Who ever said that turtle necks were out of style was definitely wrong! This turtle necked sweater is perfect for winter. Cass looks like she should be walking the streets of NYC, huh?

This is my first post of the New Year! I was just thinking this weekend that exactly one year ago I was contemplating whether or not to make a blog. Six months ago I took the leap into achieving my dreams and created my very own website. That's crazy! Creating a blog has opened so many doors for me, and helped me gain a tremendous amount of confidence. I love writing and critiquing outfits. A lot of people think that fashion is very superficial and vein, but it isn't. Fashion is so much more than the superficial perception people give it. Fashion is a form of art. Its more than who's wearing what, or the number on the price tag. I love this industry. The Little Lace Dress came so far in 2014. I was a finalist in Teen Vogue's Tresemme contest and made an appearance on their social media, I created my own Youtube channel, and lastly my blog has reached close to 20,000 views. That's incredible! None of this would be possible without my readers. Whether it's 5 or 5,000, I am so blessed for each and everyone of you. I cannot wait to see what this next year has in store for us!
In this outfit I am wearing a new dress I just got for Christmas. I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with Shabby Apple, but they sell the cutest stuff! I purchased this dress, and a little lace dress (you'll see it soon haha). Their clothing fits perfectly. It hugs you in all the right places, and is especially great for tall girls (like myself). I paired this shiny dress with Anthropologie pumps, and an Anthropologie sparkly belt. I wore this outfit to my cousins wedding a few weeks ago, and received so many complements! I love this dress!!

My name is Emma Engilman. The goal of my blog is to encourage self confidence and stray away from societies definition of "beauty." I refuse to retouch my appearance in Photoshop, so enjoy my flaws because they make me-- me!
