Chellooo my fashionista friends. If you haven't noticed I updated the look of my site. It is now more simple and chic, agreed? I like it, but if you totally hate it that's fine too. Let me know what you think in the comment section below (or don't- live ya life).
((The struggle is so real right now because I just painted my nails and idk if they are still wet so I can't go to bed. #justgirlythings :-) (-: ) SORRY- side note hehe)
It's the most wonderful time of the year!.. A.K.A. SUMMER!!! On Thursday I got to Utah, and now I am staying with my sister in Provo. College town and college campus, but most importantly COLLEGE BOYS (am I right, ladiez???). Basically the past few days have consisted of the juice bar, buying Saltwaters, and spending all my cash-money-flow on unnecessary (but v cute) clothes. OOPS- at least I will (hopefully) look stunna for my big NYC adventures in a few weeks. I am counting down the days until I go to Lim College's summer Fashion Lab. Can you say hecka fun- can you say hecka exciting- can you say hecka fashion??? I am so stoked to post pics in NYC of all my cute new fits (spoiler: overalls). MOST EXCITING THING GUYS: I was on the hunt for a buddy to go with me to New York and guess who is going- not any of my friends from KY, not even any of my friends from the USA... My friend Andie from Germany is going to the Big Apple with me! This was a crazy, spur of the moment decision, but we are going to have a blast. I cannot wait to see her. Yeeeeeeeee!
OK SO FOR THE #OOTD: Today I wore a Brandy kimono, some ultra comf. low crotch pants, and my Birkenstocks. Kimonos are PERF for summer. They are light weight, so you won't get hot and sweaty, but they are also super cute and stylish. They are also really great for summer travels because they take up literally .000000000213% of your suitcase (which means more room for shopping). I paired this with my loose bow pants- also perfect for a summer day. This was kind of like my I'm-trying-but-not-really look- only because this outfit was so effortless/comfy and still managed to look good. Ha, my favorite kind of outfits.
Hello, hello, hello! Sorry for the mixed up posting schedule, my sister, Brooke, just got home from Europe, so I have been hanging out with her as much as possible before she has to go back to school. Brooke is a senior at BYU, and loving every second of it. She went on a study aboard to England, Italy, France, Slovenia, and Greece.... and I'm like, why didn't you pack me in your suitcase, BROOKE??
I have heard nothing but stories from her European adventures. Apparently she bought a stress ball banana (I'm guessing you can imagine it?? haha). On her flight back home she got pulled over because the security thought it was a liquid, so there she stood using hand signals to try and explain to these Greek men that it was in fact not a liquid, but a stress ball.... I repeat: STRESS BALL. She said that all the other Americans around her were dying laughing, I would be too.
Brooke brought me home so many fun goodies: a super cute jewelry dish, a.m.a.z.i.n.g Greek sandals, chocolate (le duh, le yummy, le already in my tummy), and VOGUE PARIS. I just about peed when I was looking through Vogue Paris. I've started collecting Vogues from all different countries. I'm a fashion nerd, but a PROUD FASHION NERD!!! Hahaha. I decided to share the video Brooke made from her trip. It is probably the cutest thing ever, and I'm not just saying that because I am her sister. She did a great job with it and I wanted you guys to see it! Let me know what you think! I also decided to attach a few pics of all my new fun things. Yay for European presents!!!!!!!!

This past week my blog celebrated it's 1 year anniversary! It is crazy to look back over the past year and see how far my blog and I have come. Starting my The Little Lace Dress I was timid and was uneasy about posting photos of myself online; now I can 100% honestly say that I have grown tremendously from creating my own website. I've never felt so confident with myself and I truly feel that with each post I am one step closer to achieving my goals and dreams. One year-that is: 18 thousand different people, 32 thousand page views, 500 Instagram followers, 2 times in Teen Vogue, 3 sponsorships, and countless blogger friends made. That is incredible! I am tremendously excited for the years to come, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the LLD. Thank you guys for my first AMAZING year!
My family is preparing to have a yard sale, so naturally I have to go through everything to make sure that we aren't getting rid of anything special. When it comes to giving stuff away I always seem to find some 'sentimental' reason to keep it. "Oh, but I wore this to that concert" or "Ooooo we can't get rid of that, I will use it someday!" Can anyone else agree?? It's actually a horrible habit. But on the bright side, I only found one MUST-KEEP item; and that is my mom's old Dooney and Bourke purse from the late 80's to early 90's. It is the drawstring style handbag....which is TOTALLY in right now. So to showcase this fabulous bag I thought I'd pair it with a cute Lucky Brand shirt, some jeans, and pointy toed nude heels....
My name is Emma Engilman. The goal of my blog is to encourage self confidence and stray away from societies definition of "beauty." I refuse to retouch my appearance in Photoshop, so enjoy my flaws because they make me-- me!
