Hello makeup lovin' followers! First off, I need to apologize for no post last Sunday... I was in Utah enjoying my last few days of vacation. But I'm back now and ready for a blog filled summer! I know I always say this but I have a lot of exciting things planned for the next few months. While on vacation I went a little shopping crazy... OK, a lot shopping crazy, haha, oops. Get ready to see my makeup hall soon, and my new favorite summer outfits!
Second off, do you know how hard it is to take pictures of your own swatch-filled arm??? I couldn't do! There has to be an easier way-- I just haven't figured it out yet. Because I was on the verge of twisting my arm off, I had my friend, Grace, come over and be my arm model. If you follow me on Snapchat (first off, congrats, and if you don't follow me... you should!) you saw that Grace's arm fell asleep while she was posing, hahahaha. Don't let anyone ever tell you that swatching isn't hard work, because it is!
Ok now lets get to the good stuff. My review of the Anastasia 'Modern Renaissance' palette. This palette is honestly the best eye shadow palette I've ever used. The pigmentation is out of this world. Each shadow is equally as creamy and rich as the next. I hate it when I get a new palette and some colors are chalky while others are smooth; there is nothing worse than an uneven palette. These colors blend like a dream-- honestly, the best I've ever used. If I had to choose between Modern Renaissance and the Naked palettes I would 100% choose the Modern Renaissance palette. It isn't even comparable to the Naked palettes-- that's how incredible it is.

Call me a hypocrite... but I used to HATE camo. Honestly, I despised it. Recently, I was shopping at Nordstrom and an employee had the cutest outfit on; she was wearing a camp jacket, ripped jeans, and the cutest shoes. The second I saw her I knew I had to give camo a try. Immediately I ran upstairs and snatched up this Top Shop camouflage jacket, and I'm looooooving it.
When it comes to camo, you have to style it in the right way otherwise it can take a turn for the worst. I say camouflage looks the best when styled in a rustic way with a girly touch. I dressed up this look with some fun shoes and added a pop of color with my sunglasses. Another way I wore it this week was with a striped shirt... CUTE! The mixture of patterns is so fun and makes a statement.
OTHER WAYS TO STYLE CAMO

Hello, hello, hello! Ah, it's officially summer. You know what that means? Warm weather, sunglasses, aaand shorts! When I'm getting in my busy (and by busy I mean lazy) summer routine I tend to not dress up as much and just throw on some shorts and a t-shirt. And then when it's time to put on a cute outfit featuring my shorts, I'm clueless! What the freak! I can't be the only one who feels this way, right? That's exactly why I'm here to help! Here is my summer guide on how to dress up any pair of shorts.
*DISCLAIMER* Wanna make this post more fun? Each time I say 'shorts' in this blog post eat a cookie... or do a jumping jack, I don't care-- personally, the cookie sounds more exciting.
1. Choose a pair of shorts that are flattering and stylish.
-Whenever I go summer pants shopping I always, always, buy a pair of shorts that are a size too big. Shorts that squeeze you around the thigh aren't flattering. To make any outfit look good, your clothes have to fit properly... simple, right? Also, choose a pair of shorts that have some sort of stylistic appeal to them: rips, prints, patterns, etc. This will give your outfit an extra pop of style.
2. Simplicity is key.
-Don't feel like your top has to be anything extraordinary. Look, I'm just wearing a plain white button up-- simple, yet it gets the job done. Don't feel like you have to wear something crazy to get all dressed up. While you can rock the patterns and sequins, I prefer more simple clothing and then spicing things up with my accessories.
3. Accessories (and shoes!) are everything when wearing shorts.
-Accessories are the perfect way to add something extra to any pair of shorts. It's summer, so the first obvious accessories are sunglasses. Aren't my maroon Free People sunnies fun? I loveeee them. When it comes to jewelry I always prefer either statement earrings, a simple necklace, and/or some rings. In this look I went with my Chanel earrings and two of my favorite rings. While neither of those pieces are necessarily 'statements,' my main accessories were my TopShop shoes. Because these shoes are so loud and in your face it was essential that I didn't do too much with my jewelry. Shoes make or break an outfit, so choose wisely! I'm an addict when it comes to funky shoes (hints the silver cages wrapped around my feet).
Hope this helped!
