Hello everbody!!! Sorry I didn't post last week, no excuses- I just didn't have anything planned, haha. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. As you can tell I was in California for the past few days. So fun, so Cal. My parents and I flew out there to visit my family in Palm Springs (and do a little shopping...hehe). THE SHOPPING IS INCREDIBLE. Like, for real, outlet shopping to the max- we are talking All Saints, Alice & Olivia, Valentino, Maje, Rag & Bone, Ted Baker (sale-sale-sale). Going broke, saving money... We decided to go ahead and look for a prom dress... yes, prom isn't until April- but hey, the stores were great, so why not. I found a pretty dress at BCBG, it needs some alterations, but we went ahead and bought it. Then, of course, we walk into Ted Baker and I find, literally, the most gorgeous dress (and it fits like a glove)- so we had to buy that one too! Thanks BCBG  for having all your sales final! Haha I left California with 2 prom dresses...maybe I'll get asked to senior prom??? Idk, a girl can dream. If you want a sneak peak of my dresses- go check out my vsco :) We also went to the mothership, yes, I am talking about Sephora. I got a bunch of new goodies that I am excited to share with you guys. Maybe a haul??

On to the outfits! It was weird packing for this trip because it just got cold in KY, and it was 100 degrees in Cali... sooooo my internal season clock is all out of wack now. But isn't this top cute!!! I took it to NYC, and I was going to take pics of it while I was there...but my sticky bra fell off in the subway from the humidity- SO THOSE PICS DIDN'T HAPPEN..oops. Sticky bra- don't do it if it's hot out-I repeat DO NOT DO IT. Anyways, I'm glad I got to save that top for this trip, ha. Guys, if you don't own a pair of heeled booties- go get them- like, now. They are great! Booties boost your outfit from a 6 to a 10, and you will feel SO CONFIDENT in them. That is my cousin, Erin, in the supa cute overalls. She has the best style. Her Valentino sunglasses... OK- I was so envious of them all weekend- they are amazing. AND HER GOYARD BAG- I have no words. She is fabulous. It was so fun, after we went to Sephora we did face masks and exchanged makeup tricks. Good times, good times.

Anywayyyyyys, I hope everyone is having a great start to fall.
XOXOXOXOXO,
Emma

Hey guys! I have a little collab for y'all today. This is one of my favorite blogging friends, Amanda! You might of seen her on my blog a few months ago, if you've been following me for awhile. Amanda and I both started school recently. BOOOOO! We thought it was only appropriate to give some fashion advice to anyone starting school soon. This is actually the outfit I wore on the first day of Junior year (minus the dark lips and rockin' shades, haha). After a long summer without seeing your classmates, it is essential to go back looking your best (but not too try hard). My number one advice to anyone and everyone is to keep it simple. Don't over accessorize or be 150% glam chic... Save that for the second week of school. ;) The first day is when you should come back looking like you tried, but didn't spend hours curling your hair. If you want to look like you just walked off the runway, you do you. I'm sure all my friends can testify that I over dress for school. But hey, I like it, and I'm a fashion blogger. YOU GOTTA DO YOU. DRESS DON'T STRESS. Hahah!

My pictures were taken in NYC. *Sigh, tear drop, tear drop.* I miss it so much!!! As you can tell this was a flower pickin' and sniffin' kinda day.  I was in Central Park by the Upper West Side. Holy moly. I love the Upper West Side. It is so freaking cute!! There were so many shops and cute buildings without millions of tourists around. Love it. Love it. Love it. One day I will live there, just you wait, my blog reading friends, just you wait.

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

SHOP THIS LOOK:

Hat: Brandy Melville (old but similar here)   Earrings: vintage from the boutique A Second Chance   Shirt: Madewell   Jeans: Seven For All Mankind   Shoes: Old Navy  Sunglasses: Free People   Ring: & Other Stories (I couldn't find it on their site, but I will keep looking ;) ...SUPER cute btw)

HOLY MOLY! What a great week! Currently I am on my fifth day of being in The Big Apple, and loving every second of it. I go back to Kentucky on Saturday and I already miss New York...How is that possible??? I am in NYC right now! Just the thought of leaving the city makes me to press a fast forward button to when I will be here next. LOL, wouldn't that be nice?

I've done just about anything and everything all fashionistas would want to do while in the city: strolls down 5th Avenue, fashion classes, shopping in Soho (twice...hehe), and a photo shoot on the top of the Rockefeller Center. The Rock definitely has been one of my favorite parts of this trip. Everyone is so quiet at the top, and the views are breath taking. A little FYI: The lines at the Rock are super short depending on what time of day you go, and this is probably the best view of the city. My friends and I went around 7pm-9pm. This was perfect because we saw the city before sunset, during sunset, and a few minutes after it was dark. Around 9pm it started to get crowded, so I don't know if I would recommend going during that time. Keep in mind that this is summer, so the best times to go probably change with the season.

Now let's dive into the fashion! How do you wear all black in summer? Wearing all black, and pairing it with a dark lip can be a bold move, especially when it's not fall or winter. What better place to be a risk taker than in NYC? Being colorless can get boring unless you style it right, so it is essential to mix it up by wearing a few statement pieces. I paired my black Seven For All Mankind jeans with this super cute boxy black shirt. I would classify this shirt as the statement piece for this look, but I still wanted to jazz it up some more. I did this by adding my new Chanel earrings, and a hat.... Of course I needed a hat, because manHATtan...ha. Never forget, accessories are EVERYTHING!! ALSO OH MY FREAKING FRACK these earrings! I saw them at a vintage Chanel store in Soho and instantly fell in love. Sorry boys, my heart's taken.

Ta-ta for now!! I'm off to bite into another day in The Big Apple...
