Hellllllo everyone! Did anyone else watch NYC fashion week? If not, don't fret because the fashion fun is just beginning! NYFW kicked off fashion month, so if you missed last week there are still countless shows to see.
1. Fashion Month Schedule
Fashion week starts in New York, what a great place to start.
Then it goes to London, then Milan, and finally Paris.
There are also other fashion weeks around the world, but these are the most well known.
2. live streaming
Sadly, we can't all be Anna Wintour. That means that not all of us can sit front row at every show (LOL I rhymed). But you can get a great view of all the FABULOUS new trends by live streaming straight from your computer! Plus, by live streaming you don't have the added stress of finding the perfect outfit, and if you're anything like me, you'll find the fuzziest blanket and snuggle in bed while watching and being envious of all the fabulous clothes. Now, not all the shows are live streamed, but most of the more known designers are. Also, don't freak out if you miss a show- reruns are constantly playing!
Watch fashion week live, here!
3. backStage Access
Backstage access to the hottest shows sounds pretty nice, right? Luckily for us, Snapchat is here! Most brands have Snapchat. This makes it so you can see behind the scenes. They'll post anything from choosing models, final fittings, guests at the show, runway makeup, etc. etc. etc.. It's also a constant update, which gives you a more personal feel towards the brand.
Some of my favorite designers I follow & their Snap usernames:
-Burberry: burberry (Burberry has really out done themselves on their Shapchat. It is incredible. Probably my favorite that I follow.)
-Louis Vuitton: lvlive
-Sephora: sephorasnaps (This account is mostly makeup, but during NYFW they had a lot of behind the scenes with the models.)
Other great fashion accounts can be found here.
4. Follow Designers
Follow them on Twitter! I follow countless accounts that never fail to keep me up to date. The brands themselves will post photos of the clothes, but other accounts will give you their opinion on the shows. An account I follow that is 1) HILARIOUS and 2) always one step ahead of the fashion news is Nico Bellay, of @IAMFASHION. They are truly so funny.
The shows that are on now, aren't for this season, they are for the next season. When you see S/S 2015 that means Spring/Summer 2015 collection, and when you see F/W 2015 that means it is for the Fall/Winter collections. Also, a lot of the trends that come out of fashion week aren't from the shows themselves, but from the street style seen at the shows. Goals.
