Hello, fashion friends! Sorry it's been so long since my last post... School is a struggle, haha. On the bright side, I've planned some super exciting things for The Little Lace Dress! I've decided to start a new series of makeup-review posts. My new series will feature a different product every Monday... MAKEUP MONDAY!!! Woohoo! (Too bad I'm posting this on Sunday... haaaa). With prom season in full swing, everyone is looking for the best products, and I am here to help! I'm totally open to suggestions, so if there is a product you're dying to try, but not sure if it's worth hype, let me know and I'll put it to the test! I've been on the hunt for a perfect foundation... Literally, the hunt; I've watched just about every Youtube video and have spent hours upon hours in Sephora, haha. As I keep testing foundations I'll keep you updated as to which are my favorites! On this Sunday's edition of Makeup Monday, I'll be testing... Kat Von D "Lock-It" foundation. Why did I choose this product? I've heard a lot of great things about this foundation. I struggle with problematic skin, so I love a high coverage foundation. It's my biggest fear that I'll look super cakey while wearing a full foundation. I also breakout easily, so I needed something that was oil free. This is the foundation that my dermatologist uses, and she recommend I try. After a week of wearing it, this is what I noticed: Kat Von D products are amazing. This definitely lives up to its full coverage claim. Initially, when I put this on I wasn't sure if I liked it. It is very very matte- perfect for oily skin. After testing it for a few days I grew to really like it. Occasionally it clings to dry patches, so I would not use this if you have dry skin. It lasts all day and doesn't move at all. Out of all the foundations I've tried, this is the most full coverage and longest lasting. Is it perfect, no. Do I recommend it- yes, I really like it!! How to get the best results with this product: I will not use this product if my skin is looking dry- bad idea, don't do it! Haha. It will get flakey, which is a no go. When I use this, I always make sure that I am consistent with my exfoliating routine. I also like to use a heavy moisturizer, and moisturizing primer. TOP TIP: Have a very, very light hand when applying this foundation- a little goes a long way. If you put too much on it will look cakey, so I like to use a single, light, layer, with a matching pigmented powder on top. Other products that work well with this foundation:
