about the tutorial:
Hello lovelies! Today my GORGEOUS friend Jenna helped me with this contouring tutorial. Some of my friends have been asking me lately what is contouring and how do I do it. Well, have no fear, if you're curious (just as my friends are) I am here to help! When someone contours their face they are simply adding shadows and highlights to give their face definition, and enhance their features. Contouring is a great way to give the illusion of a slimmer face and intense cheekbones.
For this tutorial I used the SmashBox Contouring Sticks, but other products work just as well. The Contouring Sticks are more for a KARDASHIAN look, or intense night out look. For everyday makeup I like to use powder contour, and occasionally I will use bronzer. Contour is used to create shadows and is a brown color. Bronzer is used to add warmth to the face. It is different from contour because it has red undertones. Over the past year I've tried different products and my favorite powder products are the Chocolate bronzer by Too Faced, and the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit. I love, love, love, love, LOVE these two products. They smell so good and are a definite must. FYI if makeup smells good I automatically want to buy it 10x more....anyone else agree? Haha.
Use your fingers to find the bottom of your cheekbone. Then from the edge of your face to the end of your cheekbone apply the contour. The contour can also be used on the nose to make it look shorter.
Apply bronzer to the outer rim of the face. Then highlight on the T-zone, and beneath the eyes (just as in the picture).
If you are using the Contouring Sticks, use a Beauty Blender and pat the product onto the face. Don't rub the product around, otherwise the shadows will loose their shape. Dabbing will allow the product to stay in place but look perfectly blended.
Using a blush brush, apply blush to the apples of the cheeks. I love the Sephora collection #49 brush. It is amazing and so soft!
