This past week my blog celebrated it's 1 year anniversary! It is crazy to look back over the past year and see how far my blog and I have come. Starting my The Little Lace Dress I was timid and was uneasy about posting photos of myself online; now I can 100% honestly say that I have grown tremendously from creating my own website. I've never felt so confident with myself and I truly feel that with each post I am one step closer to achieving my goals and dreams. One year-that is: 18 thousand different people, 32 thousand page views, 500 Instagram followers, 2 times in Teen Vogue, 3 sponsorships, and countless blogger friends made. That is incredible! I am tremendously excited for the years to come, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the LLD. Thank you guys for my first AMAZING year!
My family is preparing to have a yard sale, so naturally I have to go through everything to make sure that we aren't getting rid of anything special. When it comes to giving stuff away I always seem to find some 'sentimental' reason to keep it. "Oh, but I wore this to that concert" or "Ooooo we can't get rid of that, I will use it someday!" Can anyone else agree?? It's actually a horrible habit. But on the bright side, I only found one MUST-KEEP item; and that is my mom's old Dooney and Bourke purse from the late 80's to early 90's. It is the drawstring style handbag....which is TOTALLY in right now. So to showcase this fabulous bag I thought I'd pair it with a cute Lucky Brand shirt, some jeans, and pointy toed nude heels....
In other words, Friday was the very last day of school.... FINALLY. Happy summer! What have you guys been doing for SUMMER 2K15... lol. The summer started out amazing because a group of friends and I went to the Vance Joy/Taylor Swift concert. Not only do I love my girl Tay Tay Swift but I love Vance Joy, so really it was a win-win situation. We worked all day painting, glittering, and gluing to make huge posters for the concert. We walked around outside and got our picture taken a few times, but once inside they took our posters...so sad, right?? The rest of the night we were a little bummed but still had a great time. The next morning I woke up to endless Twitter and Instagram notifications; Vance Joy Tweeted and Insta-ed the picture of my friends and me! SO FRICKEN COOL, RIGHT?? If you'd ask me I'd say that's a pretty great way to start the summer.
My name is Emma Engilman. The goal of my blog is to encourage self confidence and stray away from societies definition of "beauty." I refuse to retouch my appearance in Photoshop, so enjoy my flaws because they make me-- me!
